Example: Create a free account. Go to "Store" and search "L initial words." Next to "Decks" you will see "Sort by...", click on the drop down menu and select "Price - Low to High." Choose a free material you like and add it to your Library! You can use this on your computer and tablet!

This website offers free games online! Games include Rags to Riches, Pop-Ups, Challenge Board, Quiz, Battleship, Hangman, Scavenger Hunt, and Java games. 

Example: Type "r initial" in the Quia search bag. Click the game you want to play! *Be sure to play once before you  play with your child, so that you know what the answers are and how you can cue/help them to get the answer correct.

On a Video Call

Youtube has many amazing videos for Articulation. Peachie Speechie is a good channel and we use it often! Children enjoy videos and it is a good idea to include videos as a "break" when practicing speech sounds! 

Example: Go to youtube and type "Peachie Speechie l sound" The video will help you with tongue placement, how to teach tongue placement, and provide opportunities to practice it!

Mommy Speech Therapy provides free PDFs with target sound words and pictures! 

Example: Go to the website and scroll down to "TH sound" click on "th-initial words" to access the cards. Print it out and cut it with your child for an interactive activity.

The full app (PRO) comes with all the sounds, group sessions, etc. for $59.99, however, if your child is only practicing 1-6 sounds, it may be best to purchase individual sounds. The individual sound prices range from $1.99 to $9.99 depending on the sound.

**When using a fun app to practice speech, limit the time they play on this app during non-speech tasks. Extended time on this app may result in lack of interest/motivation during speech practice time!

Example: S sound - You can engage the child by having them choose a car, and say sounds 5-10 times between each steps. "What car do you want to wash today?" Child picks a car, "Ok, now say Sun 10 times." After they practiced, "Good job! Now, what color do you want the car to be?"

This is a great toy if your child is shy about practicing. Warm up by building Mr. Potato Head and practice cards from the free resources to practice target sounds!

Example: You can use Mr. Potato Head to warm up. Ask your child to request body parts (e.g., "I want the blue hat") and give pieces one at a time. When you completed this activity, say "now let's practice these sounds with Mr. Potato Head!" If your child does not want to practice, you can always ask "Mr. Potato Head" to practice instead.
